My first guiding experience with my dad in 1973. That picture was taken by a Belgium tourist Sofia on the way to Selimiye Mosque in Edirne. Probably Sofia thought my father was a husband for all the following ladies. Actually the ladies are from a small village in Tekirdag where my dad worked as a teacher. Thanks Sofia for sending that picture to my dad. |

I was born in Tekirdag and moved to Istanbul with my family in 1975. After I graduated from Izzet Unver high school I studied economy at the University in Istanbul. My first experience was being accountant and I worked in several companies as an accountant which I liked very much but after several years I decided to go abroad to improve my english.
I went to England in 1992 and studied the following subject till 1994.

| I lived in Brighton and loved England very much. I had lots of friends all around the world and had the greatest experience of my life. Thanks to everybody whom I met in England espacially Noreen because, she made my life beautiful there. While I was in Brighton I went to Belgium and France on holiday.
I returned to Istanbul at the beginning of 1994 and applied for a university. Then I studied for Travel Management at the Aegean University in Izmir. While I was at the University again, I studied German at the German Culture Center for 2 years. |

I took computer courses and improved my knowledge about several computer programs such as Microsoft World, Excel, Front Page. I started to desing my own homepage and I am learning Photoshop & HTML.
My expertise and interest lie in Ottomon and Turkish history, mythology, archaeology,religion, Islam, Christianity. I love trekking, traveling, swimming, reading books and meeting new people.
Theater and cinema the other subject that I am very interested in. I also work for outgoing tours and have been to Malta, Lisbon and Prague. |
My other interest is knitting and crochet. I learned that handicraft from my mother. I buy the yarns from Kurkcu Han in Kilogram and create my own design. I use several methods to improve my imagine such as to look at hand made items, handicraft books, from the hand made carpet, designs on the fabric metarils and also from my friends. I make sweater, cardigan, pullover, waistcoat, shawl, beret and with crochet I make tablet cloths, bed cloths and some dress. I give knitting and crochet lessons in the bus during the tour.
I live in Istanbul and have been an active official tour guide since 1996. I am also a member of IRO (Istanbul Guide Association). License no: 34/2263.
